What should you have ready when you call?
You don't need all of this, but each item helps us send the right technician with the right parts:
- The full address, including unit number, buzzer code or the parking level where the car is
- What is locked or broken: house door, condo unit, car, office or mailbox
- The lock brand if you can see it (Schlage, Kwikset, Weiser, Medeco and so on)
- For a car: the year, make and model, and the VIN if you need a new key
- Photo ID with the address, or a lease or utility bill. For a car, the ownership
- A phone number we can call back if the line drops
How long until a technician gets to you?
Most calls in Toronto get a technician on site in about 15-30 minutes. Rush hour, snowstorms and late-night highway closures can add time, and dispatch will tell you a realistic ETA on the phone. There is no call-out fee, and the price is confirmed with you before any work starts.
What happens after you call?
Dispatch sends a technician your way and gives you an arrival time. When they get there, they look at the lock, confirm the price with you and only then start. For a lockout, they check ID or proof you live there before opening the door, and they try to open it without damage first.
